Footloot

Things fall through.

Nobody knows from where: a record sleeve on a trail, a jar of moth dust under a bench, a key that fits no door in town. Collectors gather them, sort them into sets, and trade stories about where they turned up.

Footloot is a collecting game for iPhone, played on a walk. Finds lie on the map around you, wrapped. Walk to one, and once you're within reach, open it. What's inside is yours. If someone got there first, it comes back.

On the App Store soon.

How it plays

  1. Walk to a find. Every street has a few. Some are rare; one in a while is legendary.
  2. Fill the book. Each find goes into your collection, sorted into sets. Finish a set and it's stamped.
  3. Trade and craft. Sell extras at the Bazaar, learn a specialization, make what the map doesn't give you.
  4. Some days, from home. Three small goals a day, one of them from the couch. The finds are still out there.

Footloot needs your location while it's open, to show the finds near you and check that you're close enough to open one. It never tracks you in the background. Watch where you walk.
